Colts Release Manning
The Indianapolis Colts have released quarterback Peyton Manning today, a day before he was set to receive a $28 million bonus. Manning was drafted first overall by the Colts in 1998 and since then has made the Colts a great football team. In his career Manning has thrown for more than 50,000 yards and thrown 399 touchdown passes. He also had 227 consecutive starts including the playoffs and helped the Colts tie the record for most consecutive playoff appearances with 9. Manning also took the colts to 2 Super Bowls, beating the bears in 2007 and losing to the Saints in 2009. Manning missed all of this past season with a neck injury that required him to get multiple surgeries. Without him the colts had a 2-14 record and now will have the first overall pick in this years draft. Peyton has been cleared by doctors to play and with free agency starting next week many team will probably take a look at him.
